Our Story

Bloodroot Hollow is a woman owned, community focused, small herb farm based in the hills of southern Appalachia. We strive to be stewards of the Earth, utilizing organic practices, bio-dynamic, no spray and minimal tillage. We offer seasonal fresh and dried bulk herbs and hand crafted small batch herbal remedies.

Hi, my name is Samantha and I am a lover of all things wild. I am a farmer and gardener, a herbalist and a woman whose heart belongs to the trees. I have close to 600 hours of certified holistic herbalism training from the Blue Ridge School of Herbal Medicine and the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine; along with countless hours of personal study and wonder. I enjoy working with Folk methods and the Wise Woman tradition of nourishing the mind, body and soul. I am a forever student walking the plant path, tuning to the ways of the Earth.
